The meadows of Holbeck are looking glorious.
The Neighbourhood Plan Publicity Group met last Thursday at Ingram Gardens community centre to finalise our preparations for Holbeck Gala this Saturday (6th July). We took delivery of hundreds of badges with our colourful 'Holbeck Neighbourhood Plan' Logo, and we will be giving them out at the Gala. It was so positive to see everyone's efforts transforming into tangible objects that will promote the group and our work.
Volunteers from the Neighbourhood Forum will be at the Gala to spread the word about the plan, capture the views of local residents, and encourage more people to get involved. Ellie and Lucy will be helping anyone who wants to get creative by designing and making their own badges and banners, and we will be asking for the views of local people on how we can move forward with the priority areas identified at earlier public events. In recent weeks we have also been working with the staff and children of Ingram Road Primary School. We set a competition for the children of year 6 to create their own vision of how they see Holbeck in 15 years time. We have been overwhelmed with so much imagination, creativity and talent. The children really know their area and have some brilliant ideas of the kind of place they want to live in. All entries will be exhibited at the gala with prizes for all participants. The categories are best plan, most creative, and most original. The weather looks great so please come along and see us there! |
