Thanks to the joint effort of members from the Publicity and Content Group we managed to successfully promote the Holbeck Neighbourhood Plan at the Holbeck Gala in July. Graciela, Ellie and Lucy hosted a range of activities including badge making and banner painting, which attracted the younger members of the community. Tony Ray displayed black and white photographic images of how Holbeck once looked a century ago. Eve Tidswell managed to get over 20 signatures from interested residents looking forward to joining the plan and attending the next forum on September 7th.
Janet and Eve also managed to get some really positive thoughts and comments from people on how they saw shaping Holbeck for the future. There were many comments from a range of people of all ages and different nationalities; reflecting a sense of belonging towards the community. These comments will be typed up and put on display at the forum on the 7th September.
It was great to finally meet the children behind their creations who took part in the competition from Ingram Road Primary School. The standard and originality of the work was unique and the children really let their imaginations flow! All children received a prize for entering the competition.
